These Sonoran-based rockers draw their influence from both Hispanic and Western influences. Luna is a suave, tight, diverse, local band.
They play live, loud, stand-up rock-n-roll at Froggy’s. They also sitting comfortably in a line, beachside at the Soggy Peso Bar playing MTV, unplugged style, acoustic, classic music, including the Beatles, Bob Dylan and the Eagles. “New Kid in Town” is not an easy song to cover, but Norma Muñoz does great job.
Gil Benitez and Norma are the front people of group and the catalyst of the smooth melodies this band creates. Cheyenne, the electric bass player, threads the rhythms together with bass lines as talented as anyone in town. Drummer Juan keeps the backbeat. Guitarists Gil, Jorge and Charl ice the cake with their Spanish guitar sounds that compliment Luna’s American and British covers.
Charl’s electricity with the Luna band can best be heard at Froggy’s on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00pm until 2:00am. The unplugged version of Luna can be heard at the Soggy Peso on Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.
Luna’s Schedule
You can watch Luna play throughout the week at several local restaurants. For an up-to-date schedule, please see the most recent Newsletter.
Roberto-
Hi this is Nancy from Loma Del Mar. I’ve been trying to email Brent with Red Hot Blues Band but he hasn’t responded.
I want to have a party here at my house on Tuesday October 27th and wanted Red Hot Blues Band to play. Could you please check with Brent and see if that would work and how much he would charge?
play for a couple of hours beginning around 6pm.
If Red Hot Blues can’t play, can you and/or Norma or Luna Band play that night? Let me know asap.
Thanks.
